Richmond has recorded its 10th win of the season, and fourth straight, by 16 points against St Kilda at Etihad Stadium.

After leading by 52 points at three-quarter time, the Tigers went goalless in a last term, while the Saints kick six unanswered goals.

Richmond could be thankful for its dominance in the second and third terms, when it outscored its opponent 11 goals to two.

It proved the difference in a match crucial to the Tigers’ chances of consolidating their spot in the top eight.

There was a tinge of purple among the 45,722 fans who came out to witness Maddie’s Match, in hour of the late Madeleine Riewoldt.

The Riewoldt cousins tossed the coin before the match, and embraced in the centre circle before the on-field action began.

WATCH: Highlights of Brett Deledio's three-goal performance

Brett Deledio was among the best players on the ground, collecting 28 disposals and kicking three goals.

He was ably supported by Dustin Martin, who was prolific throughout with 29 possessions, five clearances and six inside 50s.

In his second game of the season, Ben Lennon was a surprise packet up forward, kicking an equal game-high three goals, to go with 12 disposals.

Shaun Grigg was influential when the Tigers were surging in the middle parts of the match, and he finished with 20 disposals, nine tackles and four clearances.

It took defender Nick Vlastuin’s first goal of the season to kick start the game for the Tigers, after he snuck forward to capitalise on a forward 50 stoppage.

In a period of early dominance by the visitors, Deledio stormed into goal shortly after to finish an attractive Richmond move.

The Saints hit back with some strong territorial advantage, and snuck in front by the first change after registering six of the last seven scoring shots.

The Tigers booted the first three goals of the second term – through Grigg, Lennon and Chris Newman – to extend the margin to 16 points early in the second term.

Maverick Weller’s second goal briefly halted the momentum, but the Tigers finished the half with three more majors, including a classy snap from Deledio.

Jack Riewoldt’s converted set shot after the siren gave Richmond a 28-point lead at the main break.

The Tigers continued their dominance in the third quarter, with Lennon strolling into the goalsquare for his second, and Ivan Maric floating home a snap from 40 metres out.

By that stage the margin had blown out to 40 points, and the Tigers kicked another three goals for the term to extend the lead to almost nine goals.

With nothing to lose, the Saints threw everything at Richmond in the final stages, but the deficit was too great.
