Richmond finished the 2015 home-and-away season with the third-ranked defence in the competition.
The Tigers had a total of 1568 points against, which was the lowest they’ve conceded in a season since 1968. In that ’68 season, however, there were only 20 home-and-away rounds, which made their performance this year even more meritorious.

Although Hawthorn had the No. 1 ranked defence, with 1548 points against, they actually conceded more goals overall than Richmond.
The Tigers had the least goals scored against them of any team in the competition, with 220, while the Hawks were second in this category on 221.
Fremantle was second for points against with 1564, but fourth for total goals conceded with 225. Sydney was third with 223 goals conceded.
