The impressive evolution of Richmond star Jack Riewoldt, in his new forward role, continues . . .

Riewoldt, playing further up the ground, is still kicking goals, but he’s also providing many opportunities for teammates through his intelligent play.

He has become the consummate team player, and the Tigers are reaping the benefits of his creativity.

“It’s great that people are really noticing it because he’s been doing it for a long time, and he cares about the team just as much as anyone in our side,” spirited Richmond ruckman Ivan Maric told the ABC.

“He really cares about how we perceive him, and that’s as a team player.  And, I suppose it’s even just a little bit better that people from the outside are starting to notice that.

“And, he’s so hard to match up on now as well.

“He’s quite fit and getting guys up and down the ground . . . His agility’s pretty elite.

“He’s doing a great job for the team.”

Riewoldt is on track for a sixth successive season of kicking 50 goals or more, with 27 after 10 rounds, which places him sixth in the Coleman Medal.

He also is ranked equal first at Tigerland for goal assists and fourth for inside-50s.

And, the 26-year-old veteran of 167 league games, is ranked fourth in the competition for marks inside 50.
