Richmond captain Trent Cotchin has reflected on his league football journey with the Tigers over the past seven years, in the lead-up to his 150-game milestone against Gold Coast at the MCG on Sunday.
Cotchin, who was Richmond’s first pick (No. 2 overall) in the AFL’s 2007 National Draft, made his senior debut for the Tigers in Round 8 of the 2008 season against reigning premier Geelong at the MCG.

He played 15 games all-up that year in a promising start to his league football career and has since blossomed into one of the competition’s best midfielders, as well as a fine leader at Tigerland.
“I started at the footy club when we had pretty much bottomed out, before we came back up the ladder,” Cotchin said.
“What I’m most proud of is where the Club’s come from and has got to.
“It’s been a tremendous turnaround, and now we’re starting to see results going our way.
“It’s a great culture, and it’s a great place to be around . . .
“The challenge for us is to continue that and, hopefully, a winning final, or the ultimate success, isn’t too far away. You’re envious of all players that play in premierships.”
