Richmond’s sole Indigenous player in last Saturday night’s Blockbuster Dreamtime at the ‘G clash with Essendon, Shane Edwards, rose to the occasion with an equal career-high three goals.

Edwards, in his 95th league game, had nine kicks, eight handballs, four marks and booted 3.1, including a couple of contenders for goal of the week.

His lively display up forward was a key factor in the Tigers’ bold second-half fightback.
The previous time Edwards had kicked three goals in a game, was the 2008 Dreamtime encounter with the Bombers.

On that night, Edwards had 15 disposals and scored 3.3 in a performance which earned him his one and only Brownlow Medal vote to date.
