Richmond captain Trent Cotchin was particularly pleased that the team’s decisive win against Collingwood at the MCG last Saturday was built on the back of a strong four-quarter effort.
The Tigers won every quarter en route to a 91-point victory.
“That’s what we’ve been striving for the whole season,” Cotchin said on K-Rock.
“We had a couple of weeks (recently), where we were a little bit down, with a really poor performance against Adelaide . . .

“We went back to the drawing board, knew exactly what we needed to shift, and the attitude needed to change.
“Credit to the guys, they’ve come out and performed well the last two weeks . . .
“They continued to grind it out today (Saturday) and we ended up with a big win.
“But Collingwood missed some opportunities as well, so there will be things that we review on Monday and make sure that we tidy them up for a big clash next weekend (against Essendon).”
Cotchin believes the Tigers still have scope for considerable improvement.
“I think the good thing for us is that we can continue to get better,” he said.
“We’ve had a couple of good four-quarter performances and that’s the standard for us.
“We’ve just got to make sure we bring that week in, week out . . . in the past we haven’t at times.
“Your best needs to be there every week, and that’s the challenge for our group.”
