Richmond is looking to continue its strong travelling record when it takes on the Sydney Swans on Friday night at the SCG.
The Tigers have been successful on three of their four road trips this season, the highlight being their dominant performance in Perth that put an end to Fremantle's unbeaten run.
Coach Damien Hardwick said his players were up for a similarly daunting challenge with the Swans sitting third on the ladder with a 9-2 record going into round 13.
"We're certainly up for it - we feel we travel well," Hardwick said on Thursday.
"We've got a reasonable record against the Swans over the previous times we've played up there so we're looking forward to the challenge."
“It’s an important game against a fantastic opposition. They’re coming off the bye, on their home deck, so it’s going to be a tough task.
The Tigers have planned to put faith in the defensive unit which has held firm in the first half of the season, in the face of the Swans’ in-form tall targets.
However, it’s on the ground, as well as in the air, which has been the focus of the Club’s planning for the match.
“They’re incredible at ground level, which is the one area,” Hardwick said.
“You look at guys like Tippett and Franklin – from a marking power point of view, they’re reasonably consistent, but they’re very dangerous at ground level also.
“We’ve got to make sure we bring our A-game and we get numbers back there to help those players to get the ball back out.”
The last time the Tigers faced the Swans in Sydney was in round 23 last year, at ANZ Stadium, when they pulled off an unlikely upset to seal their position in the finals.
