Richmond will confront a stark contrast in playing styles when it takes on last year’s Grand Finalist Sydney on Friday night.

The Tigers’ inability to counter West Coast’s disciplined zone defence in last Friday night’s encounter at the MCG, was a significant factor in their 20-point loss.

In the wake of that defeat, Tiger assistant coach Mark ‘Wilbur’ Williams has outlined what the Swans will bring to the table in the Round 13 clash at the SCG . . .

“They’re a different side, Sydney.  They play a lot harder man-on-man,” Williams told ‘The Richmond Review’.

“But there’s no doubt we’ve still got plenty of confidence.  We’ve only been beaten by 20 points and there are a couple of little things we can fix really easily.

“So we’re really looking forward to Sydney because, once again, they’re a benchmark team.

“If we thought West Coast worked hard tonight, then we’re in for a treat next week because we know hard Sydney work and how physical they are.

“So, if we want to be one of the big sides, we’ve got to be able to match and better these teams.

“After the game, ‘Dimma’ (Damien Hardwick) challenged the blokes with that.

“Hopefully, next week, we’ll see a response.”
