Richmond has this weekend off between official pre-season matches, but the players were put through some solid match-practice at the ME Bank Centre today.
The intra-club match, played in three periods, was another chance for Tiger players to put their hands up for positions in the Club’s best team, with Round 1 of the home-and-away season less than a month away.
Ty Vickery and Chris Knights each kicked three goals, while Sam Lloyd, Brandon Ellis, rookie Kane Lambert and the VFL-listed Nick Wynne booted two apiece.

Dustin Martin, Brett Deledio, Troy Chaplin, Nick Vlastuin and Ben Lennon were among the most dominant players on the ground.
“It was a really good chance for the players to have a hitout before they have a three-day break, when they’ll go away and have a well-earned rest,” said Richmond assistant coach Mark Williams.
“It’s very important to get match practice in when there’s no game on. We want to make sure we get the work into them that they need, keep their workload up, and also give them a chance to get out there and strut their stuff.
“The things we’re looking for are that we’re doing the basics well, making sure we hit our right kicks, making good decisions and creating opportunities for our team-mates to get themselves into space.
“We’re looking for really good ball movement, and for our defensive structures to be right.”
Richmond’s next pre-season challenge match is against Port Adelaide in Albury, on Saturday March 14.
