Richmond captain Trent Cotchin has explained the special tribute the Tiger players paid to their recently retired teammate Nathan Foley in the rooms following yesterday’s 83-point win against Gold Coast at the MCG.
With the team gathered in the victory circle to belt out the famous ‘We’re From Tigerland’, they broke out into a chant of ‘Foley’, to the tune of iconic international soccer song ‘Ole’.

“Unfortunately, we don’t get to send him off with a win with him playing alongside us, so it’s nice in some small way to say our goodbyes,” Cotchin told the ABC.
“But he’ll always be there with us and stay involved with the footy club.
“I think it just shows the likeable character that ‘Foles’ was, and we love him.”
