Richmond vice-captain Brett Deledio believes the Club’s emerging group of talented young players will provide the necessary impetus for the Tigers to rise to another level in 2016.
“It’s a lot to do with more experience into Dylan Grimes, Jake Batchelor, Brandon Ellis, Kamdyn McIntosh, Kane Lambert, Corey Ellis, and Anthony Miles is only going to be better again,” Deledio told ‘Roar Vision’.
“Corey Ellis’ composure, and time and space that he has around the ‘pill’, is what I really like. And, for a young player with that already, he’s only going to get better with confidence and experience.
“Kane Lambert, although he’s only a little ‘fella’, he buzzes around and he finds the footy, does all the right things.
“Nathan Drummond is another one that just adds speed and endurance and gives you something a bit different off half-back.
“So, it’s exciting, but there’s plenty of hard work ahead of us . . .”
Deledio also is hopeful the Richmond can “add some silk” to its playing group during the current AFL trade period.
“We’re talking about getting Chris Yarran. If we can get him, playing off half-back, I’d love to lead out to him,” Deledio said.
“You get someone else, or another couple of players that can add a little bit, it just creates more depth and keeps the pressure on players to play good footy all the time.”
