Richmond coach Damien Hardwick is confident the Tigers have the playing resources to quickly and efficiently transition the ball out of their back half, despite currently struggling in this key component of the game.
“We’ve probably been a little bit injury-cursed there, especially across the half-back line. Every player we seemed to put there went down,” Hardwick told 3AW.
“Chris (Yarran) obviously hasn’t played for us at this stage, Reece Conca, we invested heavily in over the course of the summer, and he gets a bad hamstring injury.
“So Kamdyn McIntosh has gone back there and fulfilled a role for us.
“He had nine possession gains on Saturday . . . he’s been a Godsend.
“Corey Ellis is also playing down there, and you add Bachar Houli, who’s probably one of the best rebounding defenders in the comp.
“We feel like we’ve got the capacity to go forward.
“It’s going to take a little bit of time, a little bit of heartburn. But we feel like we’ve got the players that will help us in that area.”
