Hard-running Richmond midfielder Shaun Grigg was the only Tiger to poll votes in the AFL Coaches Association’s Player of the Year award for the Round 6 match against Port Adelaide at the MCG.
Grigg received five votes from rival coaches Damien Hardwick (Richmond) and Ken Hinkley (Port Adelaide) following his strong performance in the Tigers’ 35-point loss.
He had 32 disposals, including 15 contested possessions, nine clearances, five inside-50s, three rebound-50s, a team-high nine score involvements, four marks, six tackles, and never stopped trying to generate drive for his team.
