Key Richmond ruckman Ivan Maric will make his playing return in the opening round of the VFL competition this weekend.
Maric, who missed the opening two rounds of the AFL season with a back complaint, will line up with the Tigers’ VFL team against reigning premier Williamstown at Burbank Oval on Sunday.
He is one of 14 AFL-listed players who have been named in Richmond’s VFL side for the Round 1 clash with the Seagulls, including recruits Nathan Broad, Adam Marcon, Oleg Markov, Mabior Chol and Andrew Moore.
The team’s new captain Sam Darley will make his debut for the Tigers, while it will be Craig McRae’s first game as coach.
AFL-listed trio Steve Morris, Jake Batchelor and Liam McBean will be out to press their claims for a call-up to Richmond’s senior side.
The match kicks off at 2pm, and beforehand there will be family-friendly activities, such as a free footy challenge for children.
Admission is $10 for adults, while there is free admission for children under 12 years of age.
Richmond members can enter for $5.
Burbank Oval is located at 71 Morris St, Williamstown.
