Richmond’s hopes of building a potent forward line in season 2017 could well hinge on its two talented, but injury-prone, Bens – Griffiths and Lennon.
Ben Griffiths has managed only 61 senior games in seven seasons with the Tigers, while Ben Lennon has just 19 appearances at the highest level in his three years at the Club.
But if Griffiths and Lennon can both get some continuity with their football this year, there’s no doubt they have the ability to have a significant impact in the Yellow and Black attack.
New Richmond General Manager of Football, Neil Balme, provided an insight into the pair of Bens in an interview with the Club’s official podcast, ‘Talking Tigers’, during today’s intra-club trial at Punt Road.
Here’s what ‘Balmey’ had to say about Griffiths and Lennon . . .

On Ben Griffiths . . .
“Ben has got so much talent. He really came on last year, at times, but he’s just got to be more consistent about it. He can jump at the ball beautifully, he’s a magnificent kick, he can actually play in the ruck, he knows where the ball’s going . . . He’s just got to have the belief . . .”

On Ben Lennon . . .
“He’s just not been able to do anywhere near what he thinks he’s capable of, and what we think he’s capable of (in his first three years of AFL football) . . . But he’s worked very hard over summer. He’s got a terrific, positive attitude, given all the bad luck and the stuff that’s happened to him . . .We’ll just give him a chance.”
