Star Richmond midfielder Dion Prestia has continued his sparkling form since returning from a lengthy injury lay-off.
Prestia, who missed a couple of months with a calf complaint, was dominant in the Tigers’ 54-point victory over St Kilda at Etihad Stadium last night.
He had 26 disposals, with four inside-50s, four clearances, 12 score involvements, took five marks and kicked an AFL career-high three goals.
In four games since his return to the playing field, Prestia is averaging 26.3 disposals, four inside-50s, 3.6 clearances and he’s kicked a total of five goals.
Richmond coach Damien Hardwick paid tribute to Prestia in his post-match press conference last night.
“There’s not many players that can run both ways as good as Dion,” Hardwick said.
“His offensive running is outstanding, but his ability to cover the ground, defensively, is as good as anyone I’ve seen.
“That’s the pleasing thing for us, and it complements our midfield really well.
“Those sorts of players are really hard to come by.
“We’re fortunate enough to have Dion and Kane Lambert. Jack Graham’s another one, and Jacky Higgins is another boy in that mould.”
