Nathan Patterson, the artist who designed Richmond’s 2013 Dreamtime guernsey, is eagerly awaiting the Tigers running out onto the MCG this Saturday night, wearing his special creation, for the blockbuster clash with Essendon.

Patterson, who has been painting for 15 years, told ‘Roar Vision’ it will be a “surreal moment” . . .

“There’s nothing like being at the game, and watching the pre-game matches, and all the performance, dances and singing. It’s just an electric atmosphere,” he said.

Patterson, a Wurundjeri man, spoke of the importance of designing a guernsey that captured the traditional roots of Australian Football, and the local Indigenous culture.

“For me, it’s a celebration of Aboriginal culture, and a celebration of Indigenous players throughout the years,” he said.

“Watching the game, and watching the players, I think it’s a proud moment for all Indigenous players.”
