Sabrina Frederick may be Richmond’s newest AFLW recruit but she says Tigerland “already feels like home”.
Twice named All-Australian and a dual Grand Finallist, Frederick’s arrival stemmed from a desire to move to Melbourne, and she couldn’t be happier with her inclusion in Richmond’s maiden side.

“To sign with Richmond is honestly the best feeling in the world. I’m incredibly grateful to be here and really excited to get started and be a part of this amazing culture,” she said.
“Moving to Melbourne, Richmond was a standout, the way they’ve conducted themselves in their women’s program has been amazing.”
Her first impressions certainly matched her expectations, with Frederick relishing her welcome into the Tiger family.
“As soon as I walked through the door it was a nice feeling, nice and warm,” she said.
“I’ve only heard great things about the culture here so I’m really excited to be a part of it.”
Frederick, Richmond’s sixth AFLW signing, adds to a promising Tiger forward line which includes Christina Bernardi and Katie Brennan.
While Frederick and Brennan have previously played for opposing Clubs, they have developed a strong friendship, and hold the utmost respect for one another.
“To play alongside KB is going to be amazing, she’s an incredible person and an incredible footballer,” she said.
“I can’t wait to be in the forward 50 with her and have some great memories.”
Originally born in Brighton, England, Frederick moved to Western Australia at the age of seven. She joins premiership-winning wingman Kamdyn McIntosh as a Pinjarra Tiger turned Richmond Tiger.
Frederick has long played a role in championing women’s football. As well as being one of Brisbane’s original marquee players, she has worked at AFL Queensland in Participation and AFL Game Development.
