Richmond assistant coach Adam Kingsley provides Richmond Media with an insight into Jack Graham's form this year and his improvement towards the pointy end of the season.
First impression
“I was really impressed with his contest stuff. His attack on the ball and his repeat effort around the ball is outstanding. (There’s been) a little bit to work with but he’s making really good progress.”
Delayed pre-season after shoulder surgery
“When he got back into the team towards the end of the pre-season he fitted straight in. He hasn’t lost the stuff he’s great at, his strengths, so we’re really pleased with that.”

No. 2 for total pressure acts and tackles at Richmond
“He’s relentless at the ball and relentless at the player with the ball and his tackling is very good too. He’s a valuable asset around our midfield.”
Adding offence to his game in 2019
“He certainly has (added offence to his game). Particularly in (Round 20 against Melbourne), being able to kick two goals... He was very clean in this game and he’s certainly improved that aspect of his game across the course of the year and it just seems to be getting better and better, so hopefully he continues to improve.”
His knack at nailing set-shots
“He’s a nice kick, he’s very aligned and very straight so his set-shot goalkicking seems to be quite good.”
His spread away from the contest
"He’s an outstanding athlete. He’s a very good aerobic runner and his ability to get from contest to contest is really good. So, that’s a great strength of his and that enables him to put so much pressure on. He continually gets to the ball and when he does find the ball, he’s able to spread away."

His ability as a run-with player
“(He's) not so much (been used in that role this year), we’ve allowed him to play a little bit, just get after the ball and provide that pressure and tackle aspect that we see from him. There are times where opposition midfielders are bobbing up and we discuss it, but we haven’t really gone to it… We always refer back to the 2017 Grand Final when he tagged (Rory) Sloane and did a terrific job there, so we know he’s capable.”
