The series continues today with this photo of Punt Road Oval.
Punt Road Oval was packed to the rafters for the Round 9, 1949, King's Birthday Monday clash between Richmond and Carlton. A record crowd of 46,000, with some fans even spilling out on to the boundary line, saw the first-placed Blues beat the second-placed Tigers by 15 points.
