Richmond is confident its forward setup will be versatile enough to deal with the different dimensions of the SCG against Sydney this Friday night.

The Tigers’ attacking tall trio of Jack Riewoldt, Ty Vickery and Ben Griffiths has served the Club well in the last few weeks, due to each player’s versatility, according to coach Damien Hardwick.

"They're all different in the way that they play," Hardwick said.

"We're quite capable of playing Jack and ‘Griff’ up the ground and Ty as well at various stages.

"They cover the ground well for bigger players.

"But the big thing about this is we've got to make sure that we kick some goals at ground level.

"We were disappointed in that facet of our game last week (in the loss to West Coast). We couldn't manufacture a goal."

Riewoldt’s revised role in 2015, which has seen him develop an ability to spend more time up the ground, has been particularly beneficial for how the forward line has been able to function.

“I’ve been trying to get it into his game probably for a period of time,” Hardwick said.

“The fact of the matter is we’ve probably needed him to play deeper at stages because he’s been a lone hand up forward.

“With the inclusion of Griffiths and Vickery kicking goals, it’s allowed us to get him up the ground.

“He’s an incredibly smart player.  His ability to use the ball and find options inside 50 is probably a little bit understated.

“He can still go deep and kick goals for us, but he’s got the flexibility of playing up the ground also.”

Richmond last played at the SCG in 2013, when it lost by 47 points, and the Club has not won at the venue since 2004.

However, the Tigers have won four of their last seven matches against the Swans, dating back to 2010.
