Richmond captain Trent Cotchin will be unavailable for selection for 2-3 weeks, after sustaining a hamstring strain in Saturday’s match.
Cotchin didn’t finish the game, after injuring his left hamstring in the fourth quarter of the loss to GWS.
Defender Jayden Short will consult a surgeon today to determine the best course of action for his dislocated elbow.
Short ruptured ligaments in his right elbow after landing awkwardly in a contest in the opening quarter of the game.
Short’s injury recovery time is expected to be 8+ weeks, however the Club will have a clearer indication of his recovery after determining whether surgery is required.
“We’re obviously disappointed to lose Trent and Jayden to injury for a period of time, both players will go through their rehab and recovery processes, and we look forward to getting them both back in due course,” Richmond General Manager – Football, Neil Balme said.
“Fortunately, we expect to bolster the team with some players to return from injuries, as well as Dylan Grimes available for selection.”
