Richmond captain Trent Cotchin received maximum votes in the AFL Coaches’ Association’s 2018 Player of the Year award for Round 3.
Cotchin was given 10 out of 10 for his inspirational display through the midfield in the Tigers’ 13-point win against Hawthorn at the MCG.
He had 31 disposals, including an equal game-high 16 contested possessions, a team-high seven clearances, seven inside-50s, six intercepts, six score involvements, an equal team-high six tackles, team-high 53 pressure acts and 550 metres gained.
Star Tiger spearhead Jack Riewoldt was awarded five votes for his fine four-goal exhibition, while teammates Shane Edwards and Alex Rance picked up four votes apiece following their strong contributions to the team’s victory.
