Talented Richmond defender Dylan Grimes has declared he’s fit and ready to go in Saturday afternoon’s clash with Greater Western Sydney at Canberra’s StarTrack Oval, after being under an injury cloud earlier this week.
Grimes was forced from the field during the third quarter of last Sunday’s match against Hawthorn because of hamstring tightness, but he’s been given the green light to take his place in the Tigers’ line-up for tomorrow’s Round 19 encounter.
“I just had a bit of ‘hammy tightness and that’s something that’s going to crop up from time to time with my body,” Grimes said.
“I’ve had hamstring issues in the past and, just with my history, we took a more conservative approach then what we might have with other players . . .
“What could have turned into a three or four-week injury, or potentially season-ending injury for me, just meant a quarter off, and I’m cherry ripe to go this week.”
Grimes, 25, has played 74 senior games for Richmond, including 11 this season.
