Richmond’s VFL team will launch its 2016 campaign with an away game against reigning premier Williamstown on Sunday, April 10 at 2pm.
In the VFL fixture for next season, which was released today December 11, Richmond is scheduled to play five of its games as curtain-raisers at Punt Road Oval to the AFL side’s MCG matches.
The first of these will take place on Saturday, April 30, with the Tigers’ VFL team taking on Sandringham at 4.30pm (the second half under the new Punt Road Oval lights), and the AFL side’s match against Port Adelaide at the ‘G’ set down for 7.25pm.
Richmond’s first Punt Road home game of the 2016 VFL season is in Round 2 against Footscray on Saturday, April 16 at 12pm.
All-up, the VFL Tigers will play 10 home games at Punt Road and eight away matches.
Their three byes for the season are in Round 7, Round 11 and Round 15.
In preparation for the 2016 season, Richmond’s VFL team will play three practice matches at Punt Road – v Geelong on Friday, March 18 at 6pm, v Northern Blues on Thursday, March 24 at 4.30pm, and v Essendon on Friday, April 1 at 4.30pm.
