Richmond AFL-listed midfielder Nathan Foley has been named in the Tigers’ VFL squad to play Footscray in a practice match at the ME Bank Centre this Saturday.

Foley has recovered from recent foot surgery, and has been named alongside ruckman Shaun Hampson, who missed last week’s VFL hitout through injury, and AFL rookie Matt Thomas, who has been named to play his first competitive match of the season.

The extended 29-man squad includes AFL emergencies David Astbury, Ricky Petterd and Chris Knights.

In all, 12 senior-listed and four rookie-listed AFL players have been picked in the squad.

It’s the final practice match for the VFL Tigers, before the 2015 home-and-away season begins on Saturday, April 18, against Coburg.

This Saturday’s match starts at 11am, and is a curtain-raiser to the AFL Round 2 match against the Western Bulldogs at the MCG.

Admission is free for all supporters, with gates opening at 10am.
