From 5:20pm Thursday evening, Richmond fans are encouraged to ‘Follow The Flame’ and join the torch lit from the Eternal Flame at the Shrine of Remembrance as it makes its way to the MCG ahead of the traditional Melbourne v Richmond Anzac Day Eve clash.

PRE-GAME ANZAC CEREMONY
5:20pm - Torch from the Shrine of Remembrance escorted to the ’G.
A torch lit from the Eternal Flame at the Shrine of Remembrance will be escorted through the Botanic Gardens to the MCG. The Tiger Army is encouraged to come along and be a part of the ceremony from the start, and Follow the Flame as it makes its way to the ‘G.
This year’s Anzac Day Eve torch escort will feature a predominantly female Shrine Guard contingent, including ceremonial drummers for the first time. Their leading role marks a proud moment in the Shrine’s history, honouring tradition while reflecting the evolving face of service and ceremonial representation.
6:00pm – Arrive at the 'G
AT THE MCG
We strongly encourage everyone to be in their seats by 6:30pm, with the pre-match ceremony performance commencing from 6:45pm.
6:45pm – Performance by Hugh Sheridan from the Ponsford Stand stage
7:01pm – Shrine guards enter arena, hand torch to Corangamite Light Horse Troop for lap of honour
7:03pm – Players enter the arena and line up in front of the stage
7:07pm – Eternal Flame to be lit
7:08pm – Ode to the Fallen
7:08pm – Last Post
7:09pm – New Zealand & Australian national anthems
7:13pm – Joint banner raised for Melbourne & Richmond teams to run through
7:30pm – Game begins
