Rhyan Mansell is determined to build on the significant gains he made in his AFL career with Richmond last season.
Mansell kicked 21 goals in his small-forward role, finished seventh in the Jack Dyer Medal, and was one of the Tigers’ positives for 2024.
“I thought I had a pretty strong year . . . cemented myself in a spot there. Not taking that for granted now,” Mansell said on the latest episode of the Club’s Talking Tigers podcast.

“I want to really take my game to the next level.
“To this date, I think I’ve had a pretty strong pre-season and, hopefully, I can put that into games.”
Mansell has been working on several goals for the upcoming season.
“Forward craft . . . I want to get on the end of the scoreboard still, get up the ground, get a bit more of the ball, hopefully get a bit of an opportunity in the middle a times, and leadership,” he said.
“Obviously, we’ve got a lot of younger boys coming in and I’m one of the more experienced forwards now. So, I’m just trying to help them out.”
The 24-year-old, who has played 53 AFL games, credited triple premiership Tiger Kane Lambert and former club captain, now assistant coach, Chris Newman, with helping hone his forward craft.
“I did a lot of work with Kane Lambert last year. ‘Newy’ is a pretty good forwards coach. I’ve sat down with them and looked at how I can get better . . . crumbing layers. Hopefully I can get on the end of a few more,” Mansell said.
