Dion Prestia made a seamless return to Richmond’s line-up in yesterday's clash with Greater Western Sydney at the MCG.

The triple Tiger premiership star midfielder, who had missed the previous three games with a calf injury, produced a typically top-class performance.

He had 27 disposals, six contested possessions, three marks, three inside-50s, four clearances, three intercepts, four tackles and 288 metres gained.

It was only Prestia’s seventh game this season because of the calf complaint, and before that a hamstring injury, but he showed despite being 31 years of age (turns 32 in October), he still has a decent amount of good football left in him.

Richmond coach Adem Yze praised Prestia during his post-match press conference last night.

“To have Dion back in the team, the boys love playing with him, and he sets us up around stoppage and clearance.

“It’s amazing what he did today,” Yze said.

Prestia's strong performance garnered him three votes from the coaches in the AFL Coaches Association's Champion Player Award.

Richmond captain Toby Nankervis was also rewarded with three votes as he continued his fine form, racking up 22 disposals, 36 hit-outs, five clearances, four tackles and four marks.
