Richmond excitement machine Shai Bolton is on track to become the first Tiger, apart from star key forwards Jack Riewoldt and Tom Lynch, to win the Club’s leading goalkicker award since 2009.
Mitch Morton received the Michael Roach Medal that year after kicking 41 goals.
In the ensuing 14 years, Riewoldt was the Tigers’ leading goalkicker 12 times (2010-18, 2020-21 and 2023) while Lynch accomplished the feat twice (2019 and 2022).
With nine games to go this season, Bolton has a commanding lead in the race for the 2024 Michael Roach Medal.
He has 20 goals on the board, which is six ahead of impressive first-year Tiger, Mykelti Lefau, who will be sidelined for the remainder of the season following surgery to repair a ruptured ACL.
Next on Richmond’s goalkicking list are Dustin Martin and Rhyan Mansell, both with 10 goals.
Lynch, who has played only four games so far this season, because of a serious hamstring injury, has kicked six goals.
