Richmond has placed Josh Gibcus, Judson Clarke and Sam Naismith on the long-term injury list following their respective knee injuries.
The list movement creates three selections for the Club ahead of Wednesday night’s AFL Mid-Season Rookie Draft.
Richmond National Recruiting Manager, Chris Toce said that the Club would consider a range of options in the pool.
"It's really disappointing to lose those guys for the rest of the season and we are really grateful for them for understanding and letting us put them on the inactive list to enable us to make some selections," Toce said.
"(The mid-season draft) gives you the possibility to potentially fill some gaps.
"We've got a lens to the future... our intention is to pick players that are going to be able to help us over the over the longer-term rather than just picking for the quick fix."
Richmond has had success at the mid-season draft in the past with Marlion Pickett going on to play in a premiership in 2019.
Matthew Parker featured at senior level after joining the Club mid-year in 2021, and Jacob Bauer (2022), Matt Coulthard and James Trezise (2023) have also shown encouraging signs at AFL level.
