Star Richmond key forward Jack Riewoldt showcased his football ‘smarts’ and excellent ground-level ability with a top-class goal in the team’s thumping Round 22 victory over Fremantle at Domain Stadium that has been voted the Tigers’ 10th best of their 2017 premiership year by Yellow and Black barrackers.
Riewoldt’s goal came about in somewhat unusual circumstances, when star Tiger key defender Alex Rance moved deep forward and contested a mark with two Fremantle opponents.
The ball spilled to ground and Riewoldt swooped like a speedy, slick, small forward.
He cleverly toed the ball to his advantage, gathered possession, swung on to his left foot, and then coolly slotted it through for full points.
The ninth best Richmond goal of the year, as voted on by Tiger fans, will be revealed later today.
