Veteran Richmond midfielder Shane Tuck packed plenty into just one and a half quarters of game time in last Saturday’s clash with Carlton at the MCG.

Tuck, who was the Tigers’ substitute, replaced Dylan Grimes midway through the third quarter, and quickly set about his task of providing the team’s midfield with a significant boost.

By the time the final siren sounded, the 31-year-old had racked up 16 disposals, including 13 contested possessions, which was the second most for the game, behind teammate Daniel Jackson (16).

And, his six clearances he had, in his limited time on the ground, were an equal-game high.

On the other side of the disposal ledger, star Tiger midfield pair Trent Cotchin and Dustin Martin were both uncharacteristically quiet.

Cotchin, who was coming off four consecutive games where he’d picked up 30-plus disposals, was kept to just 14 touches – his lowest total since Round 3, 2010 against Sydney at the SCG – although he was clearly restricted by a shin injury suffered just before half-time.

Martin, who had finished with 25-plus disposals for five games in-a-row leading into last Saturday’s Round 21, had a career-low 10 touches against the Blues.
