Former Brisbane dynamic forward duo Jonathan Brown and Alastair Lynch paid tribute to current-day Richmond star key forward Jack Riewoldt following the Tigers’ 52-point victory over the Lions at the Gabba yesterday (Sunday).

Riewoldt was one of the most influential players on the ground, finishing with 15 disposals, including nine contested possessions, three inside-50s, an equal game-high four goals, eight score involvements, plus a team-high eight marks (six of those grabs coming inside the forward 50).

Brown and Lynch, who were providing special comments throughout the match for ‘Fox Footy’, especially admired Riewoldt’s excellent work-rate.

“He works hard to set up leads,” Brown said.

“At one stage, he took an uncontested mark (inside 50), but 50-60 metres out beforehand he zigged and zagged.

“It was so hard for his defender to stay close to him.”

Lynch felt Riewoldt set a shining example through his mobility in attack.

“The Brisbane Lions key forwards would learn a lot from how Jack Riewoldt moves around the ground,” he said.

“He’s not a one-dimensional, run up at the pack and take a mark sort of player.”
