In just three senior games with Richmond, former GWS midfielder Anthony Miles has captured the imagination of the Tiger faithful with his ball-winning ability, courage and steely resolve.
Miles is averaging just under 26 disposals per game, just under 13 contested possessions, seven tackles and six clearances.
He’s been one of Richmond’s best players in all three of his games, and his teammates also have been quick to acknowledge his efforts to date.
“He’s a great kid. He works extra hard and loves the contested football, and it’s probably something that we’ve needed,” experienced Tigers defender Troy Chaplin said on SEN this morning.
“His last three weeks, he’s been fantastic for us because he’s been able to win the contested footy and then get it to our runners on the outside. I think, the last three weeks, he’s led the team in contested footy and clearances.
“For a guy that’s trying to revive his career, after spending some time up at GWS, he’s really taken the opportunity . . . hopefully, he can continue on that way.
“The great thing with him is that he did bide his time in the VFL and play consistent footy week in, week out.
“That’s what you’ve got to do to get a game, and he was rewarded.”
