The Tigers will face the Lions from 3.05pm, an exciting challenge for the visitors against a strong opposition to kick off their fifth season in the competition.
With the majority of its playing list available for Round 1, Richmond has named a quality extended squad of 24 for the trip interstate.
Recruits Caitlin Greiser, Molly Eastman and Courtney Jones have all been named for what would be their first official games in the Yellow and Black, while recently-signed replacement player Charli Wicksteed is a chance to make her AFLW debut.
The top five in last season's Best and Fairest, Monique Conti, Eilish Sheerin, Gabby Seymour, Ellie McKenzie and Grace Egan all feature in the squad, as well as skipper Katie Brennan.
Sarah Hosking will miss Round 1 with a hamstring injury but is due to return the following week, while Charley Ryan (foot) and Meagan Kiely (back) are also unavailable for the opening round.
Richmond will confirm its final team for the trip to Brisbane on Friday at 5.00pm AEST.
Sunday's game will be broadcast live on Channel 7 and Kayo Sports.
