Richmond VFL will take on Collingwood in the Wildcard Round this Sunday afternoon at the Swinburne Centre.
The do-or-die clash between eighth-placed Collingwood and ninth-placed Richmond kicks off at 12pm, with the winner advancing to the finals series. The match will be played at the Swinburne Centre due to the Pies' home venue not being available.
The VFL Tigers booked their Wildcard spot with a gritty 12-point win over North Melbourne on Sunday at the Swinburne Centre.
Also featuring in the Wildcard Round is reigning premier Casey Demons, who will play North Melbourne at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons finished the home-and-away season in seventh position, while the Kangaroos finished 10th.
The highest-ranked winner in Wildcard Round will advance to the 2023 Smithy’s VFL Finals Series as the seventh-placed team and will take on Footscray Bulldogs in the second elimination final.
The lowest-ranked winner in Wildcard Round will progress to the first elimination final as the eighth-placed team and will play against Williamstown.
Tickets for Wildcard Round matches can be pre-purchased at www.intix.com.au/org/vfl. Tickets can also be purchased at the gate, subject to capacity. Spectators purchasing at the gate are advised the payment method is EFTPOS only. Gates at Tigerland will open at 11.00am.
