Richmond can confirm it has made an official offer to Port Adelaide restricted free agent Troy Chaplin.

Chaplin, 26, has played 140 games for the Power, in a league career, which started in 2004.

The 195cm key defender finished second in Port’s Best and Fairest in 2010, backing up his third-place finish in 2009.  He also won an AFL Rising Star nomination in 2006.
