Richmond coach Damien Hardwick has paid a glowing tribute to Tigers captain Trent Cotchin for the manner in which he led the team to premiership glory in 2017.
Hardwick believes Cotchin’s inspirational leadership paved the way for Richmond’s remarkable run to capture the cup.
“He was enormous. His finals series as such – it’s probably been a little bit understated by the media – but really, from a football club, we looked at it (closely),” Hardwick said on ‘The Hen House’ podcast.
“His effort, his intent, his physicality at the content throughout the finals series, was as good as I’ve seen.
“I’ve been around footy a hell of a long time, seen some wonderful players play, but his finals series was as good as I’ve seen from a captain.”
