Richmond’s VFL team will kick off its 2018 campaign with a 2017 grand final rematch against the competition’s reigning premier Port Melbourne at Fortitude Stadium on Saturday, April 7 at 2pm.
The 2018 VFL fixture was announced today, with Richmond scheduled to play six home games at the Swinburne Centre and another two at Holm Park, Beaconsfield.
Following the first of three byes for the season in Round 2, the VFL Tigers will make their opening 2018 appearance at home in Round 3, when they host the Casey Demons at the Swinburne Centre on Sunday, April 22 at 2pm.
There will be three occasions all-up throughout the season, where Richmond’s VFL side will play a home game at the Swinburne Centre in the lead-up to the AFL team’s MCG match on the same day – Round 8 v Coburg, Saturday, May 26, 10.45 (AFL: Richmond v St Kilda, 1.45pm), Round 11 v Northern Blues, Sunday, June 17, 12pm (AFL: Richmond v Geelong, 3.20pm) and Round 17 v Werribee, Saturday, July 28, 10.45am (AFL: Richmond v Collingwood, 1.45pm).
In Round 6 of the VFL season, on Sunday, May 13, Richmond will meet North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium in a curtain-raiser to the Tigers v Roos AFL clash early that afternoon.
The VFL match is listed for 9.15am, with the AFL contest to follow at 1.10pm.
