Hungry Tiger fans will finally get their football fill this Saturday (February 28), when Richmond takes on the Western Bulldogs at Whitten Oval in the opening round of the AFL’s pre-season competition.
It’s a been a longer wait than usual for the pre-season series to kick off, due to the league’s season proper being pushed back until April because of the cricket World Cup.
The upshot of this is Yellow and Black barrackers are eagerly waiting to break their footy fast, with a feast of action at the Bulldogs’ home on Saturday from 4.40pm.

Given the fact Richmond is taking a virtual under-23 side into the game, there’s added interest for the Tiger Army.
They will get their first look at the exciting crop of young players drafted by the Tigers late last year – the likes of Connor Menadue, Nathan Drummond, Daniel Butler, Reece McKenzie, Jason Castagna and Jayden Short.
And, they’ll also be keen to check the progress of those talented youngsters who have been on the Club’s playing list slightly longer, such as Nick Vlastuin, Ben Lennon, Matt McDonough, Anthony Miles, Liam McBean and Todd Elton.
It’s one very small step on the pathway of the 2015 journey for the Tigers, but it’s an important one nevertheless.
Richmond’s 2015 Family Day will be held on Sunday, March 1 at the ME Bank Centre. Find out more
