Judson Clarke grasped the opportunity provided to him of a full senior game for Richmond, producing a lively performance in yesterday’s thrilling win against Greater Western Sydney at Giants Stadium.
The talented teenager, who had been the Tigers’ substitute for three consecutive games, showcased his speed, skill and poise in his forward role.
He finished the match with 11 disposals, four marks, four inside-50s, two vital goals, five score involvements, 298 metres gained, and a crucial rundown tackle just before the three-quarter-time siren.
Despite being the team’s substitute four times this season, Clarke has kicked nine goals (9.1) in 10 games.
He told Richmond Media in a post-match interview that he was determined to make the most of his chance to play a full game against the Giants.
“I really wanted to prove my point and try and stay in the side this week,” Clarke said.
“It was pretty tough, I guess, to be the sub for three weeks in-a-row.
“I’m just glad I got the opportunity to play a full game out . . .
“I definitely wanted to make a big impact today.”
