Here are 12 facts about Richmond’s latest trade pick-up, Aaron Edwards . . .

1. He was born in Western Samoa and his family migrated to Australia when he was four years old.
2. He played rugby union for several years as a junior, with the Endeavour Hills club, and was a teammate of current Wallabies’ star Digby Ioane.
3. He also played soccer briefly, before turning his hand to Australian Football.
4. He played junior football with Hampton Park and Seaford, before joining TAC Cup team the Dandenong Stingrays.
5. He was taken by the West Coast Eagles in the 2003 rookie draft and spent three seasons with them all-up, managing four senior games.
6. He made an impressive AFL debut was against Richmond at the MCG in Round 11 of the 2005 season, kicking 2.2.
7. After being delisted by the Eagles at the end of the ’05 season, he joined VFL club Frankston, and proceeded to rewrite the goalkicking records there.  He kicked 100 goals with the Dolphins in 2006 and won the competition’s ‘Frosty’ Miller Medal for leading goalkicker, and J.J. Liston for best and fairest player.
8. He was then selected by North Melbourne at pick 82 overall in the 2006 National Draft.
9. His best season with the Kangaroos was in 2011, when he finished ninth in their Best and Fairest after kicking 36.8, which was an 81% conversion rate, making him No. 1 in the competition for goalkicking accuracy.
10. The most number of goals he has kicked in an AFL match is six, against Melbourne in Round 8, 2011 at Etihad Stadium.
11. The league clubs he’s kicked most goals against are Hawthorn, Melbourne and West Coast - 10 apiece.
12. He took a spectacular mark over North teammate Drew Petrie in the 2007 elimination final win at Etihad Stadium that would have won him the car for being Mark of the Year, but due to the fact it happened after the home-and-away season, it was ineligible.
