Kevin Morris considers himself blessed to have experienced so much success during his six-year career with Richmond in the 1970s.

Morris was a member of the Tigers’ 1973-74 premiership sides and, in his first five seasons at the Club, he had a highly-impressive winning strike-rate of 71.4%.

One of 18 Richmond premiership players to be presented with Life Membership of the Club at the 2013 Annual General Meeting, Morris expressed his great delight at the accolade.

“This just is a fantastic honor for me,” he said.

“I think of the fortunate times that I played for Richmond . . . In my first year (1971), I played in a preliminary final and a reserves grand final.

“The following year, I played in a runners-up team, and then, in ’73-’74, back-to-back premierships.”

These days, Morris derives immense enjoyment from watching his son, Steven, running around for the Tigers, in the same No. 38 he wore throughout those glory days of the 1970s.

“I’ve got to say that, as a player, I didn’t have the natural talent that some players are lucky to have.  But I played on heart and soul, and I think he (Steven) does the same,” Morris said.
