“The most special thing about our group is how close we are and how much we enjoy being around each other . . . I think that’s what’s going to take us forward,” Cotchin said in his 2012 Jack Dyer Medal acceptance speech last night (Wednesday, September 5).
“Not just talent and performance, but our relationships, on and off the field, are something that is very special to not only me, but every player within our football club.

“I think that’s one of our driving forces going forward . . .
“The 21 players that you go out every week with, but not only that, the guys that you train with week in, week out, you can’t win these awards without you guys being out there.
“I love playing with each and every one of you, and training with each and every one of you.
“That’s what’s so special about this Club . . . It’s just an exciting place to be, with the work that we’re doing, not only in front of you guys, but also behind the scenes.
“We thank you so much for the support because we are going places.
“We’re working really hard to make sure that we get there sooner rather than later, and that’s what’s most exciting for us.”
