Richmond excitement machine Shai Bolton was rewarded for his dazzling display against West Coast at the MCG last Saturday with maximum votes in the 2023 AFL Coaches’ Association’s Player of the Year award Round 8 voting.

The dual premiership Tiger received 10 out of 10 after finishing the match with 31 disposals, 18 contested possessions, an equal team-high eight marks, including a game-high four marks inside 50, seven clearances, five inside-50s, an equal team-high three goals, equal game-high 13 score involvements, five tackles and 384 metres gained.

Star recruit Tim Taranto polled seven votes following another first-class performance through the midfield for the Tigers – 30 disposals, a game-high 20 contested possessions, an equal game-high 10 clearances, including a game-high five centre clearances, two goals, six score involvements and 293 metres gained.

Three-time Richmond premiership gun midfielder Dion Prestia also picked up seven votes for his excellent exhibition – 23 disposals, four marks, four inside-50s, an equal team-high three goals, equal game-high 13 score involvements and 414 metres gained.

Rounding out Richmond’s Round 8 vote-getters in the prestigious coaches’ award are Jacob Hopper, two, and Dustin Martin and Liam Baker, one apiece.
