Richmond has finally broken its first-up hoodoo at interstate venues . . .

The Tigers’ victory over Greater Western Sydney at Skoda Stadium last Saturday was the first time they’d taken the four points in their first outing at an interstate ground.

Previous to the 12-point win against GWS on Saturday, Richmond had lost 10 out of 10 of its inaugural games on ‘enemy’ territory interstate.

That losing sequence stemmed all the way back to Round 8 of the 1952 season, when the Tigers were beaten by arch rival Collingwood in their first encounter at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
