Richmond will now host Port Melbourne at the Swinburne Centre's Punt Road Oval in the opening round of the 2018 VFL season this Saturday (April 7).
The 2017 grand final rematch originally was scheduled to be played at Port Melbourne’s home ground. But following an inspection of the ground by VFL officials, it was deemed not to have recovered sufficiently from maintenance work conducted there during the pre-season.
The starting time for Saturday’s Round 1 clash will remain unchanged at 2pm.
Richmond VFLW's practice match has subsequently been cancelled due to the relocation of the VFL Round 1 match to the Swinburne Centre.
