Richmond is set to welcome back Brett Deledio, but injuries have ruled out defender Dylan Grimes and midfielder Reece Conca for this Sunday’s match against Gold Coast.
Deledio will return to the senior side against the Suns, after being a late withdrawal in Round 19 due to illness.
Grimes was subbed out of the game against Adelaide at half time, with scans revealing a low-grade hamstring injury, which is likely to keep him out of action for between 1-3 weeks.
Grimes has played 15 out of a possible 18 games in the 2015 season to date, including the last 13 games in-a-row.
Conca also emerged from the Adelaide game with a minor hamstring issue, which will see him spend a fortnight on the sidelines.
He completed the match and picked up 18 disposals, in his second appearance this season after a long comeback from persistent leg injuries.
In positive news at Tigerland, midfielder/forward Shane Edwards is nearing a return from a leg injury, with the remaining training sessions this week to determine his availability for this Sunday’s game.
Edwards has missed the last four matches, after suffering a hairline fracture in his right fibula in Round 15 against Carlton.
“Shane had a good session on the weekend. He was able to run and kick the footy, and felt reasonably comfortable,” said Physical Performance Manager Peter Burge.
“It’s a question now of when we get him back into skills. We’ll make that assessment later in the week as we go.”
