Richmond has extended the contract of defender Taylor Hunt, for a further two years.

Hunt signed a one-year deal for 2015, after arriving at Tigerland as a delisted free agent at the end of last season, from Geelong.

The 24-year-old has played every game this season, and averaged the impressive figures of 17 disposals and five marks per match (both career highs).

Hunt was initially used as a midfielder for the Tigers, but has switched to the backline, where he has played as a negating defender with an ability to contribute offensively.

“Taylor has been a great addition to the playing group this season, with his versatility and running ability making him a valuable member of the team,” said Richmond General Manager of Football, Dan Richardson.

“At 24 years of age, we believe his best football is ahead of him, and we’re excited about what more he has to offer the team in the next few seasons.

Hunt played with Geelong for five seasons, playing 63 games, after being drafted with pick 49 in the 2008 National Draft.
